It has been an amazing week and a half with the Fayetteville High School Band! We had the opportunity to travel to New York and Philadelphia for Carnegie Hall and Philly Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The Philly Parade was an excellent experience for the Band at the oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the country (92 years running). Here was the footage for our TV Spot:
Then we find out we were going to play in the 7A State Championship Game in Little Rock against Bentonville. We played them last year with a dismal performance, but this year was a little different.
The Bulldogs came to play today and held the Bentonville Tigers to only 7 points in the first half. The Tigers pulled ahead in the 3rd quarter, but Fayetteville tied the game with only 4 minutes left. We had a chance to win the game with 35 seconds left but missed our field goal. Therefore we had to take the game into Overtime.
Fayetteville won the toss and elected to defend. Bentonville struggled but eventually got a touchdown and the extra point. Change of possessions moved us to 4th down with 3 to go and we scored a Touchdown. We were all anticipating the extra point to move us into second overtime, but Coach Patton had different ideas. He decided to run a 2 point conversion making us all extremely nervous. We pulled it off, however, and I have included a video of "All I do is win"! Awesome!
