SUNDAY
After Creation, God saw that everything was good, blessed the seventh day, and rested from all His work. Our twins have decided that Sunday is their day of rest as well. They work very hard all week creating memories and then on Sunday they allow their parents to rest a bit.
Natalie and Isaac demonstrating their Sunday sleep habits for us again today!
Their Sunday sleeping habits started to turn the corner when we began using the Miracle Blanket. We heard about this blanket from a friend and decided to try it out since our babies were struggling at night. The blanket is just a double swaddle that keeps their arms and legs tight to their body. Since they have to sleep on their back, the blanket really helps in keeping them from startling.
They also have thoroughly enjoyed their Glow-Seahorses. Whenever the babies get slightly fussy in their pack-n-play, we just push the horses' belly and it lights up while going through a series of 8 lullabies in 5 minutes. Obviously, it works not only for babies but also for adults.
Not only have their sleeping habits improved, but they have also become much more interactive. We have actually started getting some social smiles from both Natalie and Isaac. Pam has been helping Sarah out at home while Caleb is at work and her primary focus has been on getting them to smile. This week, both of them started smiling back and it has been so much fun to watch. The hardest thing has been to get a picture of them smiling. We just got Isaac to smile for the camera yesterday but are still attempting to get a good shot of Natalie. So precious!
Here are some other pictures for your enjoyment
Seeing those first few social smiles is so rewarding! I remember when Sanaa and Layla gave us their first social smile and it did wonders for my mood and made the lack of sleep worth it. :-)
