The End of an Era

We are have reached a turning point in our parenting of twins. For the first 9 weeks of Natalie and Isaac's lives, they have had a grandparent available at their beckon call. Gram (Pam) stayed with us for 8 weeks with Gramma Carol offering her services for the final week. Both Papa (Tom) and Papa Gene have also spent a few days with us spreading their love to each precious baby.

Unfortunately, the twins had to say goodbye to their live-in help as Caleb completed his marathon school year on Saturday, June 11th. So we are officially on our own! Granted we have been given the basic skills necessary to survive as parents (changing diapers, feeding babies, burping them, and trying to take naps whenever possible), but it's all the extra stuff that we have learned most from the grandparents.

    

In Honor of our last 9 most helpful weeks, we wanted to pay tribute to the grandparents of Natalie and Isaac and their many teachings. 
  

• Thank you Gram for staying many sleepless nights with the babies, for loving each baby with all your heart, and helping us around the house during those initial 8 weeks as new parents. 

• Thank you Gramma Carol for encouraging playtime and social interaction between the twins and allowing us the occassional nap while you care for the little bundles.

• Thank you Papa (Tom) for selflessly allowing Pam to remain with us and care for the grand-babies. Thank you also for your many visits during the weekdays and for bringing us dinner and your delicious homemade banana pudding.

• And thank you Papa Gene for making two daring treks up to Fayetteville: first was a 30-hour round trip bringing Uncle Nate through the NWA Monsoon and second was traveling a total of 3500 miles from DFW-LA-Houston-Fayetteville. 

Our Parents have been such a blessing to us throughout our lives teaching us many lessons spiritually, in our daily walk, in our marriage, and now as parents. Natalie and Isaac are so blessed to have you as Grandparents, and we are thankful that God has graciously provided two precious babies for all of us to care for. Thank you for all your love and wisdom - we definitely could not have reached this point without your help, support, and prayers.
